A drive thru the state!

Cole and I drove to Baker City to nurse my mother-in-law after surgery. It was a beautiful day to make our way across the state. With the amazing blue sky and the bright white clouds it was truly awe inspiring. It is the beginning of fall so of course we had to stop for a picture of the forest on its way into the beautiful fall colors.

On our way back, we ran into this shoe tree. All the times we have been driving back and forth and I hadn't even noticed it. I guess that is what happens when you slow down and look out the window. In our YouTube video (link below), I got an amazing photo of Cole standing below doing one of his signature poses.

I think in life we are so busy that we don't always stop to smell the roses so to speak. We sit in the car and play on our phones or get lost in our own minds making lists of what all the days ahead will hold. I remember on this day I was so entangled by the sun on my face and the rock formations that kept appearing after every corner. I, to this day keep asking myself where have I been? All these years driving to Baker City and I have missed all of this.

So on that day, I vowed to become more present. Nothing on my phone is so important that I miss GOD beautiful creation, or my family standing right beside me.

I love wake up calls!

About Me

My husband and I are All Over the Place!!   We decided many years ago that we want to travel and create the memories while we are young and energetic!  Recently we have adopted the mantra.. Live life don't chase it!

It seems we are all just trying to keep up; keep up with the house, the kids, the jobs.  At the end of the day, where does that leave us?  Tired.. too tired to play with the kids, too tired to clean the house.  So why?  Why do we work so hard to HAVE THINGS that we cant even enjoy?  This is our opinion and we chose to enjoy life now!
